Continuous Improvement
Kaizen is a Japanese word, which translated, means “gradually and in an orderly fashion” - effectively, Continuous Improvement. Kaizen will involve everybody in your organisation, starting with the CEO, and depends on the entire workforce planning and working together. For this to be achieved we help your managers and staff follow the three primary rules for practicing kaizen in the workplace:
- Good housekeeping; staff develop and practice self-discipline, which enables them to provide quality service to the customer
- The elimination of all waste; the removal of non-value-adding activities will result in higher productivity, lower costs and the provision of better quality services.
- Standardisation; maintaining a standard way of working will build quality into every part of the services you provide and prevent the recurrence of errors and waste, thus increasing productivity.
The majority of these small steps will be made by the workers and middle managers, with support, encouragement and direction from senior management. The senior management’s responsibility is to cultivate a thriving KAIZEN climate and culture throughout the organisation and we can support top managers through coaching to achieve just this.
