Alun has over 15 years of experience working at strategic and operational levels in the public sector and has worked in partnership with county and district councils, police authorities and fire & rescue services. He specialises in Lean process improvement methodology and is a Six Sigma Lean Practitioner. North East Lincolnshire District Council and Gwynedd County Council are amongst Alun’s past clients.

Ian Smart

Julie Westwood

Keith Pople
Keith is an experienced consultant, who works almost entirely in healthcare and social care, advising clients on strategic change and helping them to develop their organisations. Co-design and co-creation underpin everything that he does. The benefits he has helped his clients realise invariably include removing cost while building quality by focusing on patients; and allowing this focus on clients and value to drive simple ‘outside in’ system reform and rationalisation.

Mike Astbury
Mike has over 25 years of experience in consultancy, local government, process outsourcing and fire & rescue services. His passionate stance on public-service improvement is driven by his personal experiences of both excellent and very poor public services and of how this difference can affect people’s lives.
In his role as Head of Operations at Alexander, Mike is responsible for the consulting work Alexander carries out across the UK. Stuart Bestwick
Stuart is our most Senior Programme Director and an experienced management consultant. He has extensive experience of delivering Lean and Business Process Re-engineering programmes, which focus on improving customer quality outcomes, customer experience and operational productivity and efficiency, and has helped many clients to realise their objectives.
Stuart has co-established the BIRCH Foundation, which seeks to improve the business effectiveness of the health service with skills drawn from health, academia, manufacturing and 'Lean' consulting, with the University of Warwick.
